What is PGT A/SR?

Preimplantation Genetic Testis for Aneuploidy (PGT-A) is an NGS-based technology used in assisted reproductive technology (ART) procedures such as in vitro fertilization (IVF). PGT-A involves testing embryos for chromosomal abnormalities, specifically aneuploidy, which refers to an abnormal number of chromosomes in a cell including gains and losses.

Who needs this test?

  • Couples with a history of recurrent miscarriages
  • Couples with previous IVF failures
  • Embryos from women of advanced maternal age that are at an increased risk of aneuploidy
  • Couples with a known chromosomal translocation or rearrangement
  • Couples who wish to increase the chances of having a healthy baby

How does it help couples make informed decisions?

PGT-A increases reproductive success rates in women by improving the chances of a successful single embryo transfer, ruling out aneuploidies and reducing the likelihood of miscarriage.
Methodology: NGS
