Glucokinase-maturity-onset diabetes of the young (GCK-MODY; also known as MODY 2) is believed to cause 1–2% of cases diagnosed as gestational diabetes. Pregnant women with GCK-MODY should be differentiated from those with gestational diabetes because different management is needed.
