     Develop a mathematical model of the Liver Homeostasis

Strand’s Solution: 

  • Strand has developed a virtual liver model (patent pending) that can
  • Reproduce homeostasis (behave like a “normal liver”)
  • Quantify the evolution homeostasis to disease and simulate toxicity
  • Identify important pathways involved in disease
  • Can reproduce cholestasis, necrotic/apoptotic cell death, steatosis
  • Evaluate toxicity potential of drug candidates


 Validation:

  • Model is validated using reports in literature
  • Wet lab validation is in process
